These committees include diverse representation from across the community, including schools, utility companies, faith communities, community organizations, social service organizations, and government agencies.
- Engagement Committee: This committee is focused on developing effective and diverse methods to increase community engagement through outreach initiatives and social media. It organizes outreach events for target populations and strives to share energy saving strategies with all Monroe Country residents.
- Residential Programs: This committee promotes energy efficiency strategies in residences through free home energy assessments and thermal imaging. It is also developing a green lease program for renters.
- K-12 Education: This committee works with local school systems to further incorporate energy and environment into the curriculum. It also provides hands-on tools for teaching energy efficiency and hosts energy outreach events at local schools for both students and parents?
- Data: This committee is focused on tracking Monroe County’s energy consumption throughout the competition.
Representatives of each committee also participate in monthly Task Force meetings to help coordinate efforts.
